Exhibitions and Installations
Site specific and brief driven installations and exhibitions are an important part of Rollason’s word expression and visuality.
‘Middle Six’, Brewery Tap, Folkestone
At the mid-point of a varied and concentrated journey, these six artists are exploring their relationships and practices in combination with each other. Immediacy is the theme floating in and out of their work. The marks made prove an energetic access to the environment which capture fleeting moments.
The sense of art craft comes into play with the written word, handmade structures and the spontaneity of performance which creates a sense of truth.
This wide range of work and the various media all comes together as a whole within this singular space, highlighting, offsetting and complimenting each artist and their extraordinary practices.

‘Voices’ Beach Creative Gallery
Written within the paper dress tied with a red satin ribbon, are handwritten words stating facts and figures of the exploitation of women over the centuries. The words are impossible to read as they are enclosed within the dress reflecting the hidden stories and unseen acts.

Littoral Light II
A beautiful, illuminated, twilight art exhibition is uniquely set on a remote stretch of the tidal zone of Ramsgate beach, by the artists’ collective, Article 10.
At 9pm, when the sun has set and the tide reaches its lowest point, artists will temporarily take over the beach to create magnificent light sculptures, performance and sound installations.
The art will be installed, curated and shown in the short time frame of just a few hours before the tide returns. All traces of the exhibition will vanish overnight leaving only the waves against the iconic white-chalk cliffs of the Kent coastline.

MA Final Show - Herbert Read Gallery, UCA Canterbury
The drawers mirror a structural narrative that describes the putting away of thoughts and ideas. Tidying expressions and hiding thoughts from constant display, only allowing occasional viewing, cloaking taboos. The letter shapes represent thought, some tucked away, some in plain view.
